Apparently this is common on large aggressive 4x4 remoulds. Test fitted one rear wheel to the buggy to check clearance. Ordered a stack of parts from VW Heritage & SSP. Stripped the hub assemblies into component parts and chucked away the junk. Kept the trailing arms, stub axles and fittings, backing plates, adjusters, springs and 22mm wheel cylinders. | 3 | 1 | 3 |

Heated the whole thing up (filled garage and house with burning rubber smoke - nice!) and applied copious amounts of penetrating oil. Still couldn't stop sleeve turning. Figured out why off-side arm won't come off; metal sleeve inside rubber bush is seized to the pivot bolt so that the sleeve is rotating in the rubber, rather than the pivot bolt rotating in the sleeve.
