Well, after several months of head scratching, indecision, inner turmoil and generally obsessive behaviour I've finally decided to build a Doon Buggy (pictured above), rather than any of the other available UK buggy types.

These pages, like the buggy project itself, are only in their infancy at the moment, so there's not really much here yet. Ultimately, I hope to present the full story of the build, with details of all the decisions made along the way, the reasoning behind them, why some of them were 'cock-ups' and all the sorts of information (that I don't have yet!) that would be useful to someone else setting out on a similar project.

On 21st May 2005 Tina and I made our first visit to see the Doon at VolksMagic in Oldbury, near Birmingham. Whilst there, we were able to talk to Simon 'Chad' Chadwick about the Doon, go for a ride in it (click here to see a short (13 sec) video (3.7MB) of Tina coming back after her go) and talk to Lee Sutherton, from VolksMagic, about the various options for the chassis. Thanks to both the guys for a great afternoon, spending such a long time with us and answering all of our 'stupid questions'.
