Hosting

The Shining-Wit web site is hosted on an old Compaq Proliant 1600 server (bought from eBay) with dual Intel PII 450MHz processors and 640MB RAM. It is running Microsoft Windows Server 2003 SP1 and IIS 6.0 and also doubles as my email server. The site is published to the web via Microsoft ISA Server 2000 and Cisco PIX 501 firewalls. The whole thing is located in my house and sits on the end of a 2Mbps home ADSL link provided by PlusNet.

The vast majority of the site is written and maintained using Microsoft Windows Notepad, the only significant exception to this is the slide show pages, which are generated using the Windows XP Slide Show Wizard Power Toy.
